Respecting regulations as regards the environment and safety

The Marais Group undertakes to respect regulations as regards the environment and safety.
The obligations defined with its customers, as well as its own requirements lead the Marais Group to do the following:

  • reduce any risk of pollution to the minimum,
  • improve its environmental performance,
  • market products which are in conformity with regulations,
  • permanently improve the environmental and safety measurement systems on its work sites.

Citizenship approach

Recourse to these lightened civil engineering techniques meets a citizenship approach for the following reasons:

1/ Construction of infrastructures using lightened civil engineering models incorporates the concept of mutualising of channels or optical resources as a natural thing.

2/ The high rate of travel during network installation operations makes a drastic reduction in disturbance to motorists and to pedestrians; these operations are carried out without any stationary obstructions and without any debris or dust, using machines which are completely safe and sound-proofed.

3/ The technology used for the in-fill products, used by our processes, guarantees correct incorporation of the trench to the body of the road.

4/ Using road vehicles or machines which are completely autonomous as regards travel, guarantees very rapid evacuation of the working space without any disturbance to urban road traffic.

Ecological approach

These innovative techniques in lightened Civil Engineering also incorporate criteria for respecting the environment:

  • réduction reducing the waste products extracted from the trenches,
  • réduction reducing dust and rubble/reduction in sound nuisance,
  • reduction in use of energy: the mechanical power used to create the trenches is located on the vehicle. Its value represents only about 50% of the power of the various machines and vehicles necessary for traditional methods.

Using these innovative methods, Marais fulfils the obligations of the current environmental standards.
