A precision challenge between safety and infrastructure

The project entrusted to Groupe Marais by SADE CGTH presented a particularly demanding configuration: trenching in the immediate vicinity of a safety barrier, between it and the roadway, on a departmental road subject to strict operational regulations.
The constraints were numerous:

• Extremely limited workspace,
• Mandatory reopening of traffic every evening,
• Trench to be opened, equipped, and closed within the same day,
• Strict regulatory framework imposed by the Deux-Sèvres Departmental Council.

A tailored technical response and optimized workflow

To address these challenges, the Groupe Marais teams deployed the MTR430 chain trencher, a machine capable of cutting right next to road safety equipment with a high level of precision.
In order to minimize machine movements and reduce the impact on the roadway, Groupe Marais proposed directly laying the HDPE at the bottom of the trench during the operation. This integrated solution streamlined the workflow while preserving the integrity of the existing infrastructure.

Delivering results despite time and technical constraints

A total of 600 linear meters were completed, with a controlled daily pace, fully compliant with departmental requirements for signage and reopening to traffic.
Each workday was organized with precision:

• Trench opened in the morning,
• Integrated HDPE installation,
• Complete closure by the end of the day,
• All without significantly disrupting traffic flow.

This project once again highlights Groupe Marais’ ability to adapt to complex contexts, provide innovative solutions, and ensure precise and efficient execution, even in sensitive road environments.
